Nintendo Wii U launch date and price leaked?
Rumours have surfaced on the Internet today that reveal the launch date and the pricing for Nintendo's next generation home console, the Wii U. The device is expected to hit store shelves on November and will be available in three models.
The models are as follows:
  • WIIU SYSTEM - GM - 11/11/12 $249.99
  • WIIU SYSTEM W/ - GM - 11/11/12 $299.99
  • WIIU SYSTEM 349 W/ - GM - 11/11/12 $349.99
Details are still scarce as to what are the contents of these three iterations of the product. It could be bundled with an extra gamepad, or a few games or may be related to storage capacities. Details of the contents of the three variants are not known. 

The leaked information comes from Video Product Distributors, which is a wholesale media distribution company. It seems quite believable, considering the recent reports that suggested that the Wii U would launch on November 18.


All the rumours will be put to rest once Nintendo announced the details of its next generation console. Nintendo is holding a Wii U preview on September 13.

Nintendo’s next generation home console is expected to have quite a stellar lineup of launch games. Some of the launch titles include, NBA 2K13, Mass Effect 3, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, New Super Mario Bros. U, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge, Nintendo Land, Wii Fit U, Darksiders 2, Assassin’s Creed 3, Just Dance 4, Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth, ZombiU, Rayman Legends, Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition and more.

Apart from having a traditional controller and being compatible with the motion controller of the Wii, the Wii U has a new controller called the Wii U GamePad. This controller houses a touchscreen along with traditional controller buttons. The touchscreen can be used as a secondary display and has unique gameplay mechanics as well as can be used as a primary display for playing games even when the television is off.
