Nokia launches two new handsets : Asha 305 and Asha 311

Nokia Thursday launched two new handsets in the Indian market - Nokia Asha 305 and Nokia Asha 311.
The Nokia Asha 305 is a dual-SIM phone with a 3-inch WQVGA resistive touchscreen and Bluetooth connectivity. It comes with a 2-megapixel camera and pre-loaded with Nokia Maps. This handset will be available in Dark Grey and Red and will soon add a Mid-Blue and a Silver White colour options. Nokia Asha 305 carries a price tag of Rs. 5,029.
The Nokia Asha 311 has a 3-inch WQVGA capacitive touchscreen and 1GHz processor. It features a 3.2-megapixel camera and comes pre-installed with Nokia Maps. Nokia Asha 311 also comes with a 15 level pre-bundled version of Angry Birds. This smartphone will be available in three colour options - Rose Red, Dark Grey and Sand White and will retail for Rs. 7,139 starting August 12, 2012.

The Nokia Asha 305 and Nokia Asha 311 come bundled with Nokia Browser 2.0, that uses Opera Mobile browser-like compression techniques, to decrease data usage by "upto 85 percent".
Nokia has also tied up with EA for these phones and will be offering 40 EA games to download for free (data charges will apply) and keep forever. These games include popular titles such as Tetris, Bejeweled, Need for Speed: The Run and FIFA 2012.
Commenting about the latest additions in the Asha Touch range, Viral Oza, Director Marketing, Nokia India, said, "The Nokia Asha family has received tremendous consumer response. With a variety of form factors across price points and innovations such as Nokia Browser, Nokia Maps and DRM free Nokia Music, Nokia Asha family has triggered data consumption habits in first time data users. With the launch of Nokia Asha Touch range, we are strengthening our range of 'mobile internet' devices that offer these exciting experiences to the consumers."

With the addition of these two devices, Nokia is currently offering seven devices under its Asha range. It is expected that Nokia will add the Nokia Asha 306 to the lineup soon.

HTC launches Desire VC dual-SIM Android phone in India, at Rs. 21,999

HTC has launched yet another dual-SIM phone in the Indian market, the HTC Desire VC for Rs21,999. This is HTC’s second foray in the dual-SIM smartphone segment. Recently, HTC launched the HTC Desire V , which was its first   dual-SIM  smartphone. On paper, the specifications of the HTC Desire VC are the same as the HTC Desire V – except that it supports CDMA-GSM, instead of GSM-GSM.
